I’ve long had a fascination with disk beads but felt I lacked the delicate touch to make such narrow beads. After getting some advice from a friend, I sat down to make a set in one of my favorite colors. Not completely orange – there is a pink tint to these sweet little set. The strand is just over 2″ long. Made of graduated sizes, the largest beads are 6 mm hole to hole x 13 mm and the smallest are 5 x 11 mm. 10 beads $28.00
The jewelry I love to wear is always rather simple… made to show off a fantastic bead…or three! The focal bead is made by ceramic artist Tari Sasser. When I started making the Rio Party beads, I finally knew what I was going to do with Tari’s fantastic bead! As luck would have it, my friend Heidi Bond – makes gorgeous hand dyed ribbons – had the perfect ribbon to string it and 2 Rio donut glass beads on. Simple and WOW all in one! $42.00 The ribbon is about 25″ and the focal is 2.5″ long.
Pair of inverse matching chocolate hearts glass beads. The press I use puts a slight wave pattern in the back and I have not added my usual “puddle” of glass to the bottom sides. The decorations on top are a swirl of either blackberry or mango with a little heart in the opposite color. Great set for earrings! 12.8mm (1/2 inch) hole to hole x 16.5mm wide $10.00
This is a huge HUGE heart and will make a lovely large focal statement for a necklace. It took a long time in the flame! $45.00 Sizes coming…see reference photo below.
The colors of the chakra can be used for meditation or in yogic practices. It is believed that – by concentrating on a color corresponding to a specific body part, healing can be achieved. Chocolate hearts decorated in spring pastels… a lavender swirl with a coral heart motif and …vice versa. You KNOW it KILLS me to make two just a like! Perfect for earrings. This is from a new press I have… much thicker beads than I envisioned. The back has a gentle wave pattern lightly embossed in the surface…too light for the camera to see! But discernible to the naked eye and by touch. I love these! Pair is 12.99. Measures 15 mm from top shoulders to bottom hole. 18 mm at widest point. 11 mm THICK.
