OMG! I thought I sold this bead at some show AGES ago. But I was cleaning out some travel boxes in my office and there she was … all by her lonesome! This bead is really striking in person…lighter on one side… darker on the other. Made to suit your moods! The darker side has a slight metallic look. Little pink flower on the upper right of each side.

Measures: 27.4 mm hole to hole (vertical) x 25 mm at the shoulders. 1/16th hole (only mentioned because I often use a bigger mandrel.) If you don’t wire wrap… I do! I can turn this into a pendant for $12.00 (sterling and Swarovskis). Just ask! 1 Bead – $19.99

Allow me to kvetch for a moment about cameras and the color blue. Most cameras never get it right. This glass bead is a cobalt blue… like the signature in the picture. A dreamy mist of blues, gray and white in a long heart focal bead. Made entirely off mandrel, hot glass hanging in mid air, this bead is perfect for the Denim and Diamonds type girl. Just add it to a chain and hit the dance floor.

Measures: 2″ from the top of the bail to the tip. .84″ wide at the shoulders. This hole is generous and fits our leather necklaces, friction clasp, stainless steel and the silicone as well.

Almond Blossoms – Lampwork Glass Bead Pendant

This pendant is my entry into the March Art Bead Scene contest, inspired by the Van Gogh painting of the same name.

ABOUT THE BEADS: The art glass beads were handmade by me, Holly Dare of Holly’s Folly ~ Glass. The focal is made of layers of opaque and transparent teal glass for depth. The flowers are white with a bit of pink. I didn’t want the pink to overpower the piece.

The Bellflower dangle is an opaque pink on stainless steel wire.

ABOUT THE PENDANT: The upper part is a wired wonder! The flower petal shaped bail, the roller coaster swirl and the large hammered flower are all ONE piece of sterling wire! I carried out the flower motif with a smaller hammer wire flower dangling from the large one. The bellflower dangle completes the piece.

Winter Monet – Glass Bead Necklace

January’s inspiration painting for the Art Bead Scene Contest was cold, wintry scene called The Magpie by Claude Monet. I knew right away I would attempt one of those fantastic tree beads… but I wanted a cold, translucent feeling.

I made the glass bead and etched it. I found some of the new colored beading wires in shades of blue and some delicate blue opals. I had always wanted to try a design that allowed some of the beads to float and move around on the beading wire. I used crimps and crimp covers to act as “stops” for the opals. A Bali silver clasp and 10mm sterling balls balance out the design.

I wire wrapped the focal art bead in 18 gauge sterling with a rosette bottom. $95.00
