This bead was originally to be an entry into the Fire Divas Team “Say it with words” bead challenge. After she came out the kiln, I didn’t like the words, so I slowly heated it up, scraped off / melted in the words, added frit and flowers and Voila! A two day bead is born! The inside of this abstract heart shaped bead is created by multiple layers of glass… I was going for orangy pink… but I didn’t like the shape. As often happens with my beads…sometimes they just “want” to be hearts! I started messing with the shape and some of the silvered glass worked its way to the surface. In the end, I think it’s much more spectacular than I envisioned. Swirls of metallic glass with glorious pink peeking through… She’s a beauty! Measures: 28 mm x 24 mm wide. – $12

I’ve always just loved a simple bead I can toss on a chain and just go. The beads I like are always symbolic of my mood. And since I’m often out and about with my pup, I decided to make a puppy paw bead. My favorite dog t-shirt reads “When I see a paw print, I see a heart and four arms reaching out to love me.” So naturally, I had to make the paws heart-shaped! Shown on one of my friction clasp necklaces (sold separately), this bead was made on a 1/16th mandrel. 7 mm x 14mm $6.00 or $10 with the silver 18″ chain. |
